Reporter vs Expert - Why Most Bloggers Are Stuck Reporting

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world - reporters and experts - and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report).

If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I’ll be frank; you want to be the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc… experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.

Most Bloggers Are Reporters

The thing with expertise is that it requires something - experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it’s a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts - there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don’t Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a “guru” (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry - the Internet marketing industry - not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it’s next to impossible to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it’s fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche - Internet marketing - and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things - email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It’s a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let’s face it - making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) - your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others

The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people’s work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It’s okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it’s fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion - your stories - and don’t regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people don’t do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert

Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don’t leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.

Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone

If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from “scratch”, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

There's a lot of money to be made using Google Paypal is cracking down on any program or business that promotes the idea of being able to make money. They label
it as "get rich quick" or MLM and freeze your account.It doesn't matter if it's a genuine and legitimate business selling access to $75,000+ in products and software with Master Resale and Private Label Rights for $997, to them

They were an integral part of my choice to manifest more money through my online business.

And now, I can use the resources I have readily available,to turn this tragedy into opportunity and help other peopleby telling my story. They don’t happen without challenges Every obstacle or problem is a challenge to give youthe opportunity to turn lead into gold. If you don't listen, it will try harder to get your attention.If you refuse the lesson, you are doomed to repeat it as many times as necessary to get your full attention.

Blogging with Adsense for Dollars by Matthew Smith

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding blogging. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about blogging.

The internet is boiling over with articles, ebooks and all sorts of hype about using blogs containing with Google's Adsense program as a means of creating income. The precise formula for success, it seems, is quite simple. You post to your blog, you place ads, you get some traffic, visitors click on the ads and then you get paid. The biggest question many people have about this whole process is whether or not the end result will actually be profitable considering the amount of time and effort that is required to implement this kind of strategy.

This question is naturally difficult to answer, in large part, because of Google's infamous Terms of Service for Adsense publishers. Although the terms have recently been loosened a little, users were long banned from sharing personal details regarding their levels of success and other key statistics which may have provided potential for profit bloggers to develop a clear strategy on their own available profit potential.

If you are in the least bit curious about whether or not you could actually make blogging with Adsense a legitimate and worthwhile moneymaker, it is worth conducting this useful but simple exercise. The results can vary, but will give you an idea of just whether or not it is even worth your time.

Firstly, determine how long it takes you to build your blog. Consider that the set up time and time needed to do initial promotions and writing probably ten to twenty starter posts. If we term this variable ST, for the "start-up time." For our evaluation hypothetical, we'll say that our ST is twelve hours.

Secondly, if we estimate how much additional time it will take on weekly basis to give it ongoing promotion and to add maybe two new posts. Now multiply this number by 52 (for the weeks in a year). And we can term this variable MT, as in "maintenance time." In this example, we will set MT at 104 hours (2 hours per week).

Thirdly, add ST and MT together. This will give us an idea of the overall total time required (TT). In this example, TT is 116 total hours.

Fourthly, investigate the usual value of an average click in your niche market. In order to make your projection "safe," reduce that number by half. This yields PPC, or "pay per click." If the bid tool says clicks related to our keyword can be worth about fifty cents. Our PPC becomes .25.

Fifth, how much your time is worth? Do you think your blogging time should make you at least $10 per hour? $20? This is a matter of personal choice. We will term the variable DR for "desired rate." Let's assess the value of our nominated time at $15 per hour for this example.

Sixth, lt's also assume a click-through rate of 5%. This is a very low figure, as many blogs generate click-through rates of 25%. Click-through rate is written as CTR.

Truthfully, the only difference between you and blogging experts is time. If you'll invest a little more time in reading, you'll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to blogging.

Now to perform the critical calculation. We need to determine our number of visitors necessary to generate enough money to make this whole process worthwhile. If we express the visitors number as V, then the equation will look something like this:

V x PPC x CTR = DR x TT

This equates to:

V x .25 x .05 = 15 x 116

Or V x .0125 = 1740

Therefore, V must equal 139,200 visitors per year. In order to make the system pay, you will need to drive 139,200 visitors onto your blog during the course of a year. That's approximately 391 visitors a day, on an average. Of course, that is a very "achievable" number based on the given amount of time we set aside for the blogging.

So, for our example, blogging for bucks with Adsense will be a winner.

Now perform these calculations based on your unique and individual circumstances and you can establish the viability of earning money on your blog with Adsense.

Agloco- is it the real thing?

The buzz is on about this thing called AGLOCO again? I have been sending emails to all my friends since January 2007 and nobody bothered then. What Is Autoblogging and How Does It Work?

A while back I mentioned the word “autoblogging” on my website, which got several people confused. Autoblogging is not a blog about cars, although an “auto blog” may mean exactly that.

Autoblogging is a term I use to describe automated blogs and automated blogging. In other words, instead of the usual method of writing the content yourself, or pasting articles from article sites manually, you can actually automate the content and linking for your blogs. What it takes is the correct mindset, the correct method and the correct tools.

1) The Mindset of An Autoblogger

Firstly, an autoblogger has to learn to manage expectations. No matter how good you get at autoblogging, you’re never going to produce high quality sites that attract a loyal fan-base using autoblogging methods. Nothing beats content that is original and written by a human being.

That being said, the wise autoblogger knows that all he really needs from one of his “autoblogs” is a few hundred to a few thousand visitors a month, and just one or two ways of turning those visitors into a profitable revenue stream.

If he can achieve this, his blog would be considered a success! He then moves on to a different blog, probably on a totally different topic or niche.

2) How To Blog Automatically

The method most people know is republishing content from RSS feeds. The only problem is that most of these people use the same RSS sources everyone else is using. They grab RSS feeds from news sites, PR sites and blog listings like Google’s Blogsearch or Technorati.

Needless to say, it doesn’t work very well. RSS is now a fully developed technology, and you’ll be surprised to find that forums, directories, regular websites and even online groups have their own RSS feeds. All you really need to do is figure out a concept for using these feeds, and then create your autoblog.

Besides using RSS feeds, articles are also a good way of adding content to your blogs. However, unless you’re doing this automatically, the amount of time spent copying articles and pasting them into your blog may not be worth your time.

Another autoblogging tactic is using data feeds from affiliate networks, and posting them into blog posts with your affiliate ID included. Unlike using RSS feeds from blogs, people don’t get annoyed when you do this.

3) Autoblogging Tools

Let start with the hosting. If you’re autoblogging, one blog is not enough. You’ll need to create and manage a handful of blogs at the same time. Therefore, you need some sort of reseller or VPS (Virtual Private Server) that can handle many domains and individual accounts for each blog.

Next comes the blogging platform. As far as autoblogging goes, nothing comes even close to Wordpress, an open-source blogging software that you can use on your own domains, and modify as you see fit.

One of the most important tools you’ll need is an “RSS feed aggregator” like RSS2Blog or other similar software. An aggregator is the key to almost all autoblogging techniques, as most other applications like article posting and data feed posting requires it.

To expand your blog’s traffic exponentially, you’ll also need a language translator script installed on your autoblogs. Having this script will instantly multiply your traffic and earnings without any extra work on your part.

Lastly, you’ll also need a social bookmarking script that automatically submits your new blog posts to social bookmarking sites like Del.icio.us. Submitting you posts to social bookmarking sites is still a good way to get your blogs indexed and ranked in the search engines.
